Specialist Clinical Psychologist Eda Kaplan

I was born in the Netherlands, but as the child of a Turkish family who returned to Turkey when I was young, I later migrated back to the Netherlands. I completed my education in Turkey and earned the title of Specialist Clinical Psychologist there.

I successfully completed my undergraduate degree in the Psychology Department at Istanbul Kültür University. During my undergraduate studies, I gained experience in various kindergartens, a rehabilitation center, the Consultation-Liaison field at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and the Humanite Psychiatry Center. I took part in the 'Intergenerational Relationship Program' project, a joint event of Aileden Biri Care Home and Istanbul Kültür University. Under the moderation of sexologist Rayka Kumru, I attended workshops titled 'Society and Gender' and 'Sexuality and the Foundations of Healthy Relationships Program'. I also participated in the 'Relationship Workshop' under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Aysun Turpoğlu.

After graduation, I attended Istanbul University's Family Counseling program in 2017. In 2018, I completed the theoretical part of the EFTA (European Family Therapy Association)-approved Family and Couple Psychotherapy training, moved into supervision, and completed the program in 2025 under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Murat Dokur. In addition, I completed my clinical specialization at Okan University in 2020. I provided counseling as a School Psychologist in collaboration with kindergartens for 4 years. In 2022, I completed Level 1 EMDR Psychotherapy training at the Institute of Behavioral Sciences, and in 2024 I completed Level 2. I began the OCD Protocol training in EMDR. I am also in the European accreditation process for my EMDR therapy training and currently in supervision.

Between 2020 and 2024, I actively served as a volunteer psychologist at the Pİ Women's Cancer Association. I continue my work at my own institution, which is in the process of affiliating with the Private Health Services Unit I founded, providing counseling for adults, adolescents, couples, and families. I have also started work to continue individual, couple, and family counseling in the Netherlands.

I am a member of the EMDR Association of Turkey.
